I was going to leave it at that, but it might be construed as approval. This was like a quiver of arrows shot at a target with a repellent magnet in the bullseye; each one looked on target until the moment of penetration when it went astray.

So far the only satisfactory movie since Monsters and Aliens for me has been Angels and Demons.

I'd heard it was pretty meh, even the parts that look so good in advance. Too bad. Another movie with so much promise.

OTOH, we did go see Star Trek again, last weekend, and while my opinion shifted around, I still enjoyed it for what it was. I was watching for the R2-D2 this time and saw a lot of details I'd missed the first time. It's a pretty densely imagined film.

And yes, I am 99% sure I spotted the Artoo.
