I read an interesting comparison yesterday.

Of course, you know that GWB removed food and fuel from the inflation index.

By his count, inflation is 4 %.

By the count used during the Clinton years, inflation is currently 8%; and by the measures used by Reagan, inflation is currently 11%.

Remember, also, that "unemployment" does not count anyone whose unemployment *payments* have expired, whether or not they are looking for work. The real unemployment rate is a lot closer to 9% than it is to less-than-5&.

When your data is intentionally misleading, it's hard to do much about a problem. It's been all lies from Jr. for 7 plus years. Yes, inflation is getting a lot worse -- and food and fuel lead the spiral upward. The drive to make ethanol instead of methanol is aggravating both factors.
