Post Spammers
We got another spammer tonight. Last time I checked, my admin privileges were insufficient to execute the approved procedure for fully expunging their traces. If that's changed, please advise the proper steps to follow.

I put on my dusty admin hat and fixed it. Note to fellow admins etc.: be sure to note the IP address of the spammer and add it to the ban list before you delete the posting. It may not help much, since the pros have an endless number of addresses from which to post, but it will stop the klever amateurs - which I think this one was.

Post Re: Spammers
I appreciate your help. I had a few days of senior moments when I forgot how to click on the 'post details' to carry the ip address forward for banning and so didn't ban the ips as I should have.

Again, thanks for all of your help and advice.

David W.

We are getting Russian posts. I suspect they are spam.

Oops. Я забыла. ;)

(For those who didn't follow the Russian in the last two posts, David posted "I also speak Russian". He and I are both Eastern Orthodox Christians, and he goes to a Russian church, so it stands to reason that he'd speak Russian. Hence my rather sheepish "Oops", followed by "I forgot" in Russian.)

Actually, I learned Russian long before I became Orthodox. I studied it at the Defense Language Institute, (The Army Language School when I started), in Monterey, California during 1962-1963.

I keep hoping to find the time to get up to speed by translating a series of lectures by Professor Osipov on Orthodoxy. He speaks a very clear Russian, but I keep procrastinating and every time I do, I forget how to type the Russian characters. It was painful typing out that short phrase.

You're a DLI graduate? I'm *really* impressed. It's the finest language school in the world, IMHO.

I actually majored in Russian in college, long before I converted. Went to Russia with a Protestant mission team during the Soviet era, and *of course* ended up being converted instead of converting them. Heinlein would have laughed himself silly right along with me, no doubt. ;)
