Post subject:  Heinlein on the Radio

I'm working my way through my collection of Heinlein audio books and radio shows. I just finished listening to the Dimension X (re-broadcast on X Minus One, which is the version I have) production of The Green Hills of Earth. Apparently, I had missed hearing it previously or it just made a bigger impact on me this time. Of course, it left out some material from the written story and I missed that, but I very much enjoyed hearing the songs as actual songs. It only includes a few because of the time constraints of a half hour radio show, but those are well chosen and very well performed. The music was written and the songs sung by Tom Glazer, an accomplished folk singer. He was backed up by a chorus on one song. I liked the songs enough that I wish there were an album of all of Heinlein's songs by Glazer. The script is also very good and the performances from the regular cast were professional and effective. All in all, I thought it was a first class production.
