Post subject:  RAH and Islam

I'm reading a very interesting book, The Wars of Afghanistan by Peter Tomsen, in which the author discourses somewhat on the different branches of Islam.
RAH had some supportive things to say about Islam, most notably in Stranger. But reading Wars got me to thinking: just which branch of Islam did Heinlein admire? I'm thinking the Sufi branch, as it seems to be the most modern and liberal branch.
Anyone know? Bill?
