Heinlein's Personal Firearms (?)
I did some searching in the archives here and haven't found what I'm looking for; apologies if this is a repeat of a previous discussion.
In the biography there are many references to Heinlein's appreciation and enjoyment of shooting and firearms. Does someone here know the number, type and and model of any personal firearms he owned? There's certainly a detailed appreciation of John Browning's 1911 .45 auto in BTH but I presume he trained with this in the Navy.
What did he actually own and shoot?

He mentions a .380 in the Grumbles letter about having to shoot a marauding tomcat.

I don't recall ever seeing a firearm at Ginny's house in Atlantic Beach.

Re: Heinlein's Personal Firearms (?)
Virginia Heinlein was in the military when Heinlein met her. Presumably she had military training in the use and care of firearms. Drill sergeants (last I heard, at least) do not think much of people who flaunt their firearms or leave them lying around where an unauthorized person could easily pick one up. I don't know whether Virginia owned any firearms after Heinlein died, but I would not expect to be any the wiser after looking around her house or apartment.

I don't recall us finding any when we cataloged the contents of her house after her death, and I don't recall seeing any when I was staying there during her final times in the hospital. However, that doesn't imply that none were there.
