Post subject:  The Mysterious Moon Ballet Revisited

Lauren Young recently interviewed me for her Atlas Obscura article ""

I admire the headline because it is both (1) powerful clickbait and (2) an excellent summary of the article which is not at all misleading.

You may remember that we kicked this mystery around when I first uncovered it back in 2009. Late in 1949 Life magazine photographer Allan Grant shot the production of Destination Moon. As you'd expect, he sent back photos of actors in space suits, the rocket, the control room, and astronauts exploring the elaborate lunar-landscape set.

But he also shot 86 pictures of ballet dancers performing on the lunar surface. Who? Why?

Eventually I made a page that might help in attempts to identify

There've been some interesting comments on Young's article. I'll write about them here when I get a chance.
