Anyone else see the and think Shipstone? With a Douglas-Martin Sun Power Screen attached? It's like Musk is using Heinlein as a business plan.

I wonder if Musk has read any Heinlein.
It looks like a neat device, but until solar cells come down significantly in price, as well as the Tesla Powerwall being priced at a reasonable point, it'll just be a political statement rather than a viable power source. Here in the gloomy Chicagoland area, for instance, solar cells hit break-even decades after they're installed.
As a for instance, there's a brand-new Walgreen's in Evanston that's festooned with power cells all over the roof and a couple of wind-turbines. The company figures it might break even, over using conventional power, 47 years from now. The Revolutionary Council of the Peoples Republic of Evanston basically bludgeoned them into building it that way or they wouldn't get a building permit.
