I can't find the existing thread but it's worth a fresh start anyway.

The reports that the second Dragon capsule has reached ISS, after another round of lift problems, have me thinking that Heinlein would be shedding tears of joy and admiration. Two flights, two in-flight failures. So what... two in-flight fixes, two successful missions.

America, we have a private spaceflight program.

Absolutely. Musk's life story is fascinating, and he's one of the visionaries of this generation. I don't think I could handle working for him (he's reportedly more than a bit condescending to most women) :/ but I have no doubt that his being alive is a huge net plus for the human race.
