I've been notified by both Kickstarter and the Heinlein Society that thanks to the success of the "Citizen of the Galaxy" graphic novel, "Have Space Suit, Will Travel" has been authorized to be the next work to be adapted to that format. I've already made my pledge through Kickstarter to get the book when it's produced.

Thanks, Blackhawk, for letting us know! I've pledged too.

Thanks, Blackhawk.

I had seen other offerings of the paperback. I was hoping for the hardbound version. But I guess I'll have to settle for the paperback.

Sorry, I hadn't considered the difference. As I said in my review posted elsewhere on this forum, it's not a perfect adaptation by any means, but it is pretty good and worth reading, I think.

I read your review, Blackhawk, and it whetted my appetite.

Sure, there are differences whenever something is adapted to another medium — short story to movie ("— All You Zombies" to Predestination), novel to movie (The Puppet Masters), graphic novel to TV series (The Walking Dead), and so on. And, in these cases, novels to graphic novels. You're never going to get a one-to-one correlation because of the differences in media.

But you do get to see how someone else, or a team, reimagines a work of art.

Agreed. And perhaps it will expose the work to a different audience that will then look for more Heinlein. That would not be a bad thing.

That would be an excellent thing, Blackhawk!

Yes, it is a funded project. They didn't make their stretch goal which would have funded another book (Glory Road was the leading candidate) but this one will get done and I expect they can do more with another Kickstarter campaign.
