Old NitroForum Users roll call
If you were a user of the former incarnation of NitroForum, drop a note to me and the other old users here. Discuss my perfidy for letting the board lapse as you will.

Hi, Jim! No, I'm not upset that you let the old forum lapse, and didn't retrieve the content.

Uri, hi! And Nick, too - already exchanged greetings with Jack elsewhere.
Dive in as you have time. We've got a great restart going here with the Centennial crowd on board.

Re: Old NitroForum Users roll call
I'm really quite glad that the forum is back. I missed it. I had written to Jim Gifford recently and asked if/when he was going to bring it back. He indicated that it would not be soon...but that I should harrass him periodically about it. It was entirely by chance that I checked in on the forum today...and discovered it was back. Thanks Jim. Also, I like the new styling/fonts/etc of the new forum. John Ps. Would've have loved an email letting me know that you were back online - given I had written to you just a few weeks ago on the very topic. I would have made my way back anyway, as I did, but depending on when you brought the forum online it might have been a month or two before I checked. No matter; all is well and I'm not really complaining. I'm grateful. By any chance, did my inquiry to you regarding what other Heinlein forums were available have any impact towards bringing it back?? Or just two totally independent events? I note that you never replied to that and 3 weeks later the forum was back.

Also glad to see Nitro back up, I've already stuck my 2 cents in elsewhere and I'm glad for the oppertunity. I made another check to see if the forum was back and for the first time in months wasn't disappointed . Group hug

Re: Old NitroForum Users roll call
Jim,
Well, I'm dreadfully upset at the loss of the previous NitroForum contents, mainly because I can't remember whatever morsel of knowledge or wit I contributed. I've seen several other forums and blogs sink with all posts, including mine, so it seems to be a hazard of cyberspace: Ethereality Risks Ephemerality.
But I'm sure glad NitroForum is revived -- thanks!

Re: Old NitroForum Users roll call
Well, yeah, if you want to stretch a point, I'm a returning poster, having posted, what. ...twice? three times? on the old forum, before it disappeared. Thanks for bringing it back, Mr. Gifford! And thanks to all responsible for the Centennial (though that's a different post yet to be written).
