A week or two ago, John Scalzi mentioned the Centennial once again on his blog, the Whatever, and re- posted the picture of his wife at the Gala dinner, noting that she had dyed her hair "Heinlein Heroine Red" in honor of the event.

In looking up that picture, I also found a link () to several pages of photos that sum the event fairly well.
I didn't see myself in any of them, but they caught Bill at the buffet. ;)

One of my only regrets from the HC was that I hadn't read Scalzi's stuff before it. I stumbled upon his site after googling the event to see who was posting about it.

Scalzi was GoH this year at our annual convention. KC committees have some pretty decent taste in guests.

I LOVE his books! I reread them a lot. Just finished his latest _ Zoe's Tale _ which was good but not as good as Old Man's War and The Last Colony. But he is definitely in the "Worth standing in line to read so much as a grocery list written by" person....

Come to think of Heinlein is also on that list.

At least to me. There is not always 100% agreement on literary isseus around my house.

Scalzi is also the only guy I know to have pulled off an extended fart joke as the major theme of the opening of a book. ("Android's Dream"). It is hysterical.
