Post Tron Legacy and 3D
I read the first review of the new Tron film today and while it did nothing to make me less impatient to see the film next weekend, it did contain one detail that gave me great and goodly glee.

One of my favorite minor sf authors is John Stith. In one of his novels he has a throwaway line that's stuck with me for 20 years or so. He's trying to describe how a character's perception of the world around him suddenly bloomed (I forget exactly why) and he says something like "You know the viddy The Wizard of Oz, how when it first comes on it's flat and you think there's something wrong with your projection unit, and then when Dorothy crosses into Oz it expands into tri-D? It was like that."

Lovely case of mental whiplash and making strange, no?

Tron Legacy is in 2D until the story crosses over into the grid, when it goes 3D. Is that freakin' cool or what?

In the end, I found Heinlein is finite. Thus, finite analysis is needed.

That sounds freakishly like a certain episode of The Simpsons.
