Funny!
There actually IS a chord chart that fits a vast number of pop songs - I - IV- V- V7- I (repeat three more times maybe substituting ii for IV) to CHORUS - (same chord may skip the IV, repeat whole thing 2 times, to BRIDGE. Change key (usually up a half step) then repeat verse and chorus.....
esp in the 80s this was huge....(actually that chord progression dates back to well before Bach - he did more interesting things than this though....).
