That's a nice find and a nice read. Thanks.

I note that the site containing this apparently collected such things in preparation for publishing a book of such small writings, which, according to the side panel note, is due out.

I'm sure the author tracked down permission for every one of dozens (hundreds?) of "letters, memos, postcards, telegrams, etc." from all these fascinating people. Oh, wait... it's a collective blog on the internet in 2012. Never mind.

Applause, then, for both the work and the attention to the quaint notion of ownership. I did poke around the blog a bit and it seems to be anything but the, er, sort of amateur crap collection that most such sites are.

I am a bit bemused by the current trend of writing your book online and then putting it between two slices of cover, though...

The ghost of a little cat looking for a friendly lap, too bad RAH never wrote it.
I feel the need to go home and pet my cats.

My copy of the US publication of Letters of Note arrived today and it is an absolute treat. Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Elvis Presley writing Nixon asking to be a federal agent, & more. I'm enjoying just flipping and reading random letters, love that there is not a pattern to the placement of the letters in the book.

I think I'll pick this up, although it will have to get in line behind volume II of the Patterson Heinlein biography and a number of other books before I'll find time to read it. :-)

I couldn't resist the description and ended up subscribing to Letters of Note. It *is* a nice book :)

... unfortunately, the UK edition doesn't have RAH's letter to Sturgeon.

Sturgeon's collection And Now the News has some good story notes on both stories. You can read snippets on Google Books and Amazon's "Look Inside" feature; just enough to make you want to find a dead-tree version to read them all.

You can read "The Other Man" . Note that Sturgeon named a character in it "Anson" in recognition of the source of the story, and that ANTN has a character named "MacLyle" (from Lyle Monroe).

Thanks, Bill. I don't read dead-tree versions, though, unless that is all that is available. I much prefer digital books.
