Been kind of dead around here lately;
did everyone take off early to get ready for Thanksgiving?

Re: Been kind of dead around here lately;
The last handful of regulars seemed to drift away a couple of months ago and it's been just a bare few of us exchanging bon mots.
I usually am in a professional hiatus from Thanksgiving through New Years but this year I have a huge documentary shoot plus weeks of editing and post to occupy me. Dunno where everyone else went.

Re: Been kind of dead around here lately;
for what it's worth, i'm still checking posts- most of the discussion has centered around politics/the election- these topics are ones i generally avoid- during this time i ordinarily keep my head down, wait for it to pass, and keep a zip on my lip- political opinions, well we all have em and like a proverbial turd, they all stink (at least to someone else)- i balk at adding to the odor so am still alive here and will post again.......... I check the board pretty much daily. Sorry I haven't had much to contribute that I thought might be worthwhile.
One of my other favorite discussion boards () seems to be dying for lack of interest. I'm sad about that and hope it doesn't happen here as well.

It is damnably difficult to keep an intellectually upscale nexus going. Everything - absolutely everything - works against it.

I have been thinking of another wasp nest to kick over, after looking for so long for a RAH FORUM, but I have been busy with my new TOY. A KIA SOUL hamster mobile. It has all the bells and whisles including BLACKBERRY and SIRIUS satellite radio. I traded in my basic 2000 FORD FOCUS and I am having a ball. I go out to the car to make phone calls and listen to the radio! I am glad I am not the only one to notice I thought maybe I was thrown out without notice.

I've been prepping for the End of the World as We Knew It. Obi-Won and the fundamental transformation loom. Yeah, I'm joking. I am moving to a lovely new home, proof that I am convinced the future is Oh, So Bright. Digging the hide in the crawlspace is taking a lot of my time for another week.

I put my nose in occasionally to see who's saying what; but lacking any worthwhile retort - or enough knowledge to hazard an opinion - I've restricted my self to the role of wallflower!

Re: Been kind of dead around here lately;
My husband and I spent most of October on a road trip around the Colorado plateau, saw the Grand Canyon's North Rim (*definitely* preferable to the South Rim!), etc. In November, was busy with paying work. I'm also busy , as usual. For some reason, haven't been posting much here. But I'm definitely around.

OK - I'm over my Heinlein Burnout Phase, the start of which seemed to be when I finished reading the bio. That was exhausting. I'm baaaack!

Re: Been kind of dead around here lately;
I've been on a bit of a hiatus--since I have a new job at the Legislature that takes about 12 hours a day I haven't been too active. Luckily in my state the Legislature only meets for 90 days then goes home...I will chip in from time to time until then.
