Accessing the Chatroom for the Online Discussion
There are 3 ways to access the chatroom.
1) On the Heinlein Society webpage for the Readers Group,
http://heinleinsociety.org/readersgroup/index.html,
there is a link to an 'AIM Chat Room'. when AIM is up and running, click on that link and it should put you into the room "HeinleinReadersGroup". (Some versions of AIM may require confirmation as to the application.)
2) You can do a right-click on the link, click on 'Copy Link Location', and go to your desktop or other directory and click on 'New', then on 'Create Shortcut'. Do CTRL-V to paste the link, and then name and save the shortcut. You can use this shortcut anytime you want to bring up both AIM and the chatroom.
3) If you are running AIM Version 7, and have it running, click on 'Menu' at the top of the 'Buddy List' page, then on 'New Group Chat', insert your own buddy name, and change the name of the chatroom to HeinleinReadersGroup. You can also do something similar with version 9.5.3, but the details are different.
Note 1: See Topics in this Forum for scheduled discussions.
Note 2:For those who don't much care for AIM and other chat clients that bombard you with advertising, Trillian works fine in place of AIM.
