Three weeks before the Centennial, I cleaned out my mailbox so I would have only current issues in front of me. On the day I left my house to go to the hotel, that mailbox had 3,300 e-mails in it that I had answered and finished dealing with.

Sometimes I wonder how we did large conventions before e-mail existed. Without Skype and e-mail, the planning would have been difficult. And wen I look at a number like 1100 e-mails a week, sometimes I wonder that we get things done now that e-mail exists!

This time last year I was contributing to the overflowing inboxes and was very happy with the timeliness and usefulness of the surprisingly personable responses. You folks took the time when there was so little time, and all did such a great job -- looking back on the whole experience, I count myself very lucky to have been there then, and here now to thank you for your efforts.

We welcomed your inquiries -- and I'm glad you got what you needed from the answers. Most of the mail went to Cell B, Keith, or me. I'm not sure I did all that much sleeping, but we got almost everything done in time, and -- I think we enjoyed the results as much as anyone.

I think the Heinleins would have had a great time, and I am pretty sure the members of their families did.
