Post Grumble Grumble Snow Grumble
I know we really don't get that many snowstorms here in Maryland, but why do they always have to fall on the weekends? :(

Of course, the plow has made its one pass on the block, and I now have 3-foot high piles to dig out from tomorrow. My only saving grace was the couple of hours I spent making paths and cleaning the bulk off the cars so it's only inches not feet to clear tomorrow....

It will be a while before I find out if the newspapers were delivered or not...didn't find 'em, but it doesn't mean they're not in the neighbor's yard somewhere like usual....at least I could read them online.

Apparently this was the biggest December storm since the 1880s when they started keeping track. I managed to get to work OK, the roads were passable and highways were fine.

My kids are off today...my poor wife.

We got 2 feet, more or less, of white powder in Northern Virginia. I had given up all hope and was ready to end it all when I saw the tons of snow covering my 100-foot driveway. But then, a miracle. Three gentlemen with snowblowers drove up in a huge pickup truck and offered to clear my driveway. Best $40 I ever spent!

Hmmm. Pretty sure it was 70 degrees at my house yesterday. Today will only be in the mid 60s.

I've had my share of fun times in the DC area (both NoVA and SoMD) so I do feel badly for you, but I am indeed pleased that I live in the San Diego area now.

Where I live, the Costco does a brisk business in selling inflatable snowmen so that people can feel kinship with the rest of Canada.

No kidding.

However, we do actually get snow a couple of times a year. It dusted for a few hours a week or so ago.

In the Dallas-Ft Worth area we actually had a White Christmas, the first in my lifetime.

We had 3 " at my house, but the roads were clear and mainly dry by early afternoon,
Christmas day.
