Thanks for the link. Cool to see the old covers. I wish I could afford them. |

Thanks for the link, BillMullins. How would one go about collecting these without creasing them? Orphans of the Sky, for instance, looks like it would be at least 18 inches wide. That wouldn't fit in any commercially available file folder, nor is there a filing cabinet of the right size. Framing them wouldn't make any sense, either. You'd chew up a considerable amount of wall space with something that was never meant to be displayed flat. Not to mention getting a really expensive custom-made frame. To my way of thinking, these look like the answer to a question nobody asked. But maybe I'm all wet. |

Sweet find. Maybe the best storage/display solution is the kind of flip stand that is (used to be?) used by stores selling posters. You can see similar devices used for carpet, paint, and tile displays. |

If you are not familiar with the Winston Science Fiction series, here are a couple of covers from books that I've published:

Bill, I started Thunderchild Publishing primarily because of the Winston Science Fiction series. A friend had given me a couple of the original books as gifts because she knew I was a fan of vintage science fiction. And I had read most of the series when I was a kid and the books were newly published. At about the same time, I had become a convert to ebooks, preferring them for actual reading over hard copy. But when I looked for ebook editions of the Winston books I discovered that they were not available. In fact, most of the books had never been reprinted at all (aside from a few by writers who later became big names, like Arthur C. Clarke). That bugged me enough that I tracked down the copyright holders and got the rights to publish them myself. I now have twenty-three of the Winston series available as ebooks (far more than any other publisher) and a large percentage of those available as print-on-demand (POD) trade paperbacks. I've expanded way past the Winston books and now have over 140 books in print and more in the pipeline. Here's the link to my webpage for YA books, which includes the Winston series: |

Also, the facsimile covers that I bought were pretty good quality but I was surprised that they had not had more restoration work done on them. I do a lot more restoration work on the covers I use on my books. For example, here's examples of before and after covers

Coming late to this thread, but I bought a Puppet Masters jacket from the original linked company. Good quality, and clearly states on an inside flap that it's a facsimile. Pricey, but it may be the only one I ever buy. Now my RAH hardbacks all have a dust jacket! |

The Puppet Masters jacket is, of course, the one with the suspicious bulge underneath it. |

The cover for Glory Road features a picture of Igli. So you have to keep buying a new cover every so often after Igli eats himself. |
