[I moved this topic to a more suitable forum.]

The boy at left is Bogie - aka Bogart aka Gifford's Whistling Bogart aka Horsie aka Get OFF the Damned Couch! He'll be two in December.

His housemate is a female mantle, six months younger. Davishire Gifford's Lunar Rockette, aka Rockette (pronounced rok'it) aka No, not my EAR! (She's very affectionate.)

Their senior housemate is our elderly Golden, Sabre. At 13 this August she merely sighs at the youngsters like I do.

Bogie is almost 140 pounds of lap dog. He craves physical affection more than any other dog I've ever owned - and I've had a few.

It gets oppressive sometimes. He prefers to sleep stretched out beside me all night, head across my chest. When I chase him off, he moves to the corner of the bed, which usually means he stretches across the foot of the bed, meaning I curl my legs up or put them across him, and he eventually crowds into my wife's foot space, which gets him kicked off. Repeat cycle.

He's technically not allowed on the couch, but when we watch movies he stealthily appears, curled up next to me, head on my lap. I don't usually object until his snoring drowns out dialogue.

He also does an interesting variation of the "Dane lean" - if he's feeling particularly sociable, he will sort of hook his head on my hip and walk with me that way, neck pressed firmly against my side.

I love Danes. Nothing like them.
