This is a far better movie than the crypto-hipster title would suggest. Worth watching just for the masterful performance by Ben Kingsley as the superwealthy business tyrant looking to cheat terminal cancer while trying to turn over a new leaf to reconcile with his estranged daughter. The movie bravely dispenses with his services a quarter of the way through when he takes advantage of an offer to transfer his mind to a new body.

It's hard not to think of I Will Fear No Evil although the movie is nowhere close to plagiarism. (And for the record... I liked IWFNE and never have seen in in the shortcomings so many ascribe to it.) The movie sets itself up for an inevitable ending that all too commonly movies would cheat themselves out of but this one never shied away. It hangs together nicely and keeps a watchable pace despite the 2-hour running time.

The wikipedia page for the movie says "This film takes its central plot of an old man being transferred into a young body from the John Frankenheimer movie Seconds". I was about to edit that to say "from the Robert Heinlein novel I Will Fear No Evil," but the Frankenheimer movie is four years older than the Heinlein book.

So, I wonder if RAH saw Seconds, and if that had any influence on IWFNE.
