Maybe not needed, exactly, but I sure would like to know more about the 3-D images that were in the art show (behind the dealers) that first day of the Centennial, especially the image of the sun. They were gone the next day -- I understand that exibitor had a family illness at home that superceded staying through the rest of the event -- so I didn't get the info I wanted on availability and price of such work. I thought they were awesome and that sun would look great over the mantel.... Anyone know more about them? Would appreciate a posting.

The answer to that would have to come from Tim Kyger or Keith Kato, neither of whom has joined us here. Tina? Peter? Do you have an answer or part of one on tap?

The NASA displays were arranged by Jim Caffey of Drury University, and I assisted him in putting them up. We are both volunteers in NASA's Solar System Ambassadors program. The images were cooked up at JPL when Jim requested an exhibit.

Unfortunately he had to leave after one day, due to illness in his family, and so the exhibit wasn't up for very long.

The images were from recent space probes, selected and prepared by JPL's imaging department. I'm trying to recall-- some from Cassini orbiting Saturn, some from the Mars Exploration Rovers, some from Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. They weren't posters available to the public. However, it's possible that those images have been incorporated into posters.

I think the 3-D Sun images were from the STEREO mission. See <>. There are a lot of high-quality images available online, and if you start at you can probably find 3-D images you like.

My company runs the Advanced Scientific Data Visualization Laboratory (Vizlab) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. They have produced some wonderful deep space images from Hubble and other earth science images and animation, using technology from Pixar Animation Studios.

I've seen the 3-D crater image on the web, as well. I used the 3-d glasses I got at the exhibit to view the web images when I got home.

Thanks to eveyone who responded to this request for information. Since these images are not available in poster form I will take the advice given and choose the images I want from the sources provided (great stuff!), print them out at the appropriate resolution and have them printed up poster-size on poster paper. There's an amazing variety of 3D glasses available on eBay. I'm leaning toward the Jimmy Neutron 3D Gift Bag....

I thought that this would a nice addition to the previous images.
