Robert, you and I when it was new, back in 2013. For those just tuning in, note also , in which Prof. McCray examines a dispute between Heinlein and distinguished engineer Bernard Oliver over the Strategic Defense Initiative. Patrick McCray's blog continues to be well worth reading. His latest book, The Visioneers, is a double-barrelled history of the space-colonies idea and of nanotechnology-- they are somewhat intertwined--that may well interest the sort of people who participate in this here forum. |
