Mrs. Grundy
A cellphone picture of a cover of an old pulp magazine I saw in a display. Reminded me of the Mrs. Grundy that Heinlein was wont to go on about. Sorry about the glare; I don't have a date on this magazine but would guess early '60s.

Re: Mrs. Grundy
It's not a pulp magazine, but a comic book.

Veronica is still better than Betty, though Cheryl Blossom was the best Rob

Re: Mrs. Grundy
Good point. That series has never been concerned about being culturally up-to-date.

Yup. I hear sock hops are all the rage with the kids these days.

And I notice that everyone on the cover is wearing shoes.

Re: Mrs. Grundy
How come Dan knows so much about what teenage kids are doing these days? Does he have one or two of them, or is he still hanging out with them? ;P

Re: Mrs. Grundy
Ah. That would do it, alright. Sock hops were back briefly when I was in high school (1975-1979) and disco was all the rage. I skipped school dances because the music was so loud it hurt my ears and usually wasn't anything I wanted to listen to. Didn't discover fandom til I was thirty, but discovered SF in grade school, so I spent a lot of time with my nose buried in a book. I *LIKE* the Rice president's wife's idea of how to deal with the streakers. Good on her!
