One million words
According to http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/06/09/mill ... index.html, the English language will acquire its one millionth word on Wednesday at 5:22 am. If I'm up at that time, therefore, I propose to invent that word here and claim the door prize. I'm toying with something along the lines of 'fnord', but it might just be a portmanteau word like crapmosphere, referring to the air around Los Angeles.

Re: One million words
The word will be blogospherenym, referring to a word cleverly coined by a blogger, adopted by over one hundred thousand people within 24 hours, and then despised by ten million 24 hours after that. It will then appear in six sitcoms and be used by a clueless public figure in a speech, and never heard from again until the next edition of Trivial Pursuit.
By the way, Peter, check the exact time of your post. You were one minute early by UTC.

Re: One million words
You know, this is damn hard. I discovered I was not the first to think of 'crapmosphere'. My next thought was 'malpheasants', meaning official acts of misconduct by poultry, but that was taken too: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... lpheasants . Finally I came up with a word to describe the magical disappearance of clothing as perpetrated by Valentine Michael Smith: vestedigitation.
