Who was that author?
Just finished rereading The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress for the umpteenth time, but about half way through, while the characters were speaking of drilling for ice, I thought of a scene I expected to find in the final pages of this novel. Obviously, I was mixing up a scene from another novel, possibly by another author...but whom?
The scene is out on the Lunar surface with the main character and some visiting earth representatives, while way off in the background, the first of the huge chunks of ice, mined and transported back by Loonies working the asteroid belt, is being lowered to the Lunar surface, solving their water problem, without earths help. If my memory serves me correctly, the representatives had come with a one sided "deal" for the Loonies, based on their dire need for water. This new technical achievement by the Loonies knocked the legs out from under that "deal".
So, who wrote that story, and what was it called?
