This one is totally eluding me, and hasn't garnered any answers on the sites I've tried. I don't hang on any general sf sites or forums any more.
Short story, almost sure it's Bradbury. (Googling Bradbury+television brings up a thousand references to "The Pedestrian," which isn't the one I'm looking for.)
A miner comes into town after several months at his dig, to find that television as we know it has been wiped out by some kind of cosmic-ray effect; it just doesn't work any more. It's forcing people to actually talk and sit on their front porches in the evening and other awful things; it's dangerous to even mention TV or anything that was on it.
