I saw him interviewed on The Daily Show when the book was newer and, when Jon Stewart asked him why the SEC was, and remains, so clueless throughout the debacle, he said it was primarily because the SEC doesn't hire people who understand finance, they hire lawyers. They have no clue what's going on in the churning pit of filth they're charged with regulating.
