I donated. But why isn't she covered by Canada's national health insurance? She says she needs money for "...supplements, prescription drugs, counseling, expensive alternative therapies, etc." and I can see some of those as being outside the national system's coverage, but prescription drugs? Counseling?

I want to be *very* clear that I am in no way professing anything other than sympathy and a desire to help Jeanne, and I absolutely believe her when she says she needs extra funds for these. I'm just surprised to hear that she isn't being better taken care of by the Canadian healthcare system.

Yes, they live in BC, and so do I. Going over the things mentioned: Prescription drugs are not all covered - I don't know what it's like for cancer drugs but I have had to pay small amounts for things like allergy medicines. Alternative therapies are not covered, and counseling isn't covered if it's not prescribed by a doctor in the medical system. There is financial aid for prescription drugs for low income people, but I'm sure the Robinsons make more than that. My guess is that the bulk of their expenses are for pursuing the alternative therapies that are outside the orthodox medical system. You can buy insurance here for covering things like acupuncture and chiropractic. I have it and it basically makes our chiropractic care free.

Operations, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, for instance, should all be covered by the provincial plan.
